On 13 September 1985, an exhibition of Sri Chinmoy's Jharna-Kala art was held at the Jharna-Kala Gallery in Soho Gallery, New York. United Nations representatives from over 40 countries attended the exhibition, which included songs dedicated to peace and the UN, art, and a short meditation with Sri Chinmoy.
The special programme was hosted by Mr Natarajan Krishnan, the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the United Nations (24 October 1985).
