The Senate of Puerto Rico unanimously passes a proclamation to honour Sri Chinmoy’s visit to the Senate floor, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Sri Chinmoy is a guest at the half-hour interfaith prayer service on the morning of President Carter’s inauguration, held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, USA. Seventy of Sri Chinmoy’s students were asked to assist as official ushers at the inauguration ceremony. They wear distinctive coloured blazers — girls, pink and boys, blue — that were specially designed and made by the Centre for the occasion.
